I have been visiting a chiropractor for the past 2 weeks due to lower back and shoulder pain. My pain has diminished; however, I have just received in the mail a letter for my insurance company stating that my claim is denied. I do not want to be stuck with the chiropractor's medical bill. Does anyone know how I can appeal or approach the insurance company about this issue? any help will be appreciated.

I would try filing an appeal. Your best best might to be to get a doctor document that the chiropractic care was medically necessary. If you can get that kind of documentation, I'd say you have a good shot at them paying.
Chiropractors are always in that gray area. Most people don't go to them unless they have pain of some sort, but I swear insurers think they are the same as massage therapists or something. |
