Angry Insurance Plans are too complicated

I would like to change my insurance plan because, whenever my bill comes it is always high. I feel like my insurance doesn’t pay enough for what I’m paying them per month. On the other hand I don’t really understand how the health plans work. It would be great to be able to have someone go over what plan is good for my family.

Your problem is a common one. Insurance, in the classic sense, is meant to be for catastrophes. Think of car insurance -- you don't have State Farm cover your oil changes.

But we realize that when talking about healthcare, it can certainly be callous to compare an immunization to an oil change.

If you feel you aren't getting value for your premiums, shop around, specifically at HSA / HDHP combos. Also, make sure if you have a spouse, you compare both plans and potentially use just one or the other. Nobody is making you use your employer's plan.

I know its really sour for all of us. So let's accept it for time being. As there isn't any solid solution by now. So all eyes on new reform bill.
